Stepwise motion = moving from any pitch in the scale to either of its neighbors. For instance Do-Re-Mi-Re-Mi-Fa-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Sol etc.. These intervals are small ( 1/2 and whole steps) and relatively easy to hear. Larger intervals can be more difficult to hear and execute. The distance between Do-Mi is a major third, which is equal to 3 half steps.
Tonic solfa notation, also called Solfége, is a system of learning music where the tones are called do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti. A hand gesture is assigned to each syllable. “Do” can be fixed to C4 (middle C) or moving and then always represent the base note (tonic) of each scale. The solfa system puts the main focus on thinking about the
Moveable do, also called tonic sol-fa, has each syllable corresponding to a scale degree in the hexachord, and is mostly used in Germanic and Commonwealth countries, as well as the United States. In Fixed do, each syllable of the solfege corresponds to the name of a note, using the original “si” instead of “ti.”

Sol-Mi, on their own, is purely pentatonic and don’t always feel resolved. A number of teachers choose Do-Re-Mi for the reason of musical resolution alone, and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, it is worth noting that a “stereotype” of the Kodály method is that when using Sol-Mi, the only songs you sing are Sol-Mi songs.

Wiele świetnych rzeczy pochodzi od katolików. Jedną z nich jest solfeż (fran. solfège). Solfeż to nauka i metoda czytania nut głosem. Jana Chrzciciela: Ut queant laxis, Resonare fibris. Mira gestorum, Famuli tuorum. Do zastąpiło ut w XVII wieku.
Gama solmizacyjna to podstawa każdej lekcji muzyki. Do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do, do-si-la-sol-fa-mi-re-do.
